The Department
of Religion is pleased to announce:
- Ph.D. student
Cordell Waldron (M.A. ’06) was awarded
the 2006 Master’s Prize for the College of Arts and Sciences.
He also received the Mary Marshall Prize for his essay “‘Jeweled
Chariots’: The Metaphor of Motion in Japanese Buddhist Literature
and Practice.”
- PhD student
Craig Martin received a Teaching Fellow appointment
for the 2005-06 year.
- PhD student
Dianne Quigley's NIH grant for her Research Ethics
project has been renewed and extended for a sixth year (see link
at www.researchethics.org.)
- George
Heyman (Ph.D. '04) was awarded an All-University Doctoral
Prize for his dissertation "The Power of Sacrifice: Roman
and Christian Discourse in Conflict." Congratulations to
George and also to his advisor Jim Watts!
