PhD Student Communities and Identities

514 Hall of Languages

Dimple is a PhD student in the tradition of South Asia and is pursuing a certificate of advanced study in South Asia as well as Women and Gender Studies. She finds religion—both as an identity and an activity—to be an important axis to add to feminist intersectional analysis. Towards this end, she brings the theories of both religious studies and women’s studies together in her work on Vaishnav women and public spaces in Gujarat. Her research interests include women's lived religion in India, feminist postcolonial studies, transnational feminism, and the anthropology of religion.
