Undergraduate Religion Scholars Association (URSA)

The Undergraduate Religion Scholars Association (URSA) is a student-formed and student-led organization of Religion majors and minors. URSA will celebrate its inauguration as an official campus organization this Fall (2019). Founded in the Fall of 2018 by Religion majors Jessica Holman (2020) and Jason Dargan (2019), this organization seeks to create a dynamic space for the exchange of ideas among curious undergraduates, and to support professionalization opportunities for SU Majors and Minors in the study of Religion. URSA plans to promote dialogue among students and with the faculty of the Department of Religion. Its aim is to provide a setting for discussions and events that are not only educational, but also enjoyable, taking the form of public lectures, group discussions, movie nights, and perhaps faculty-led lunches and other events. Beyond the campus, URSA aspires to connect with the broader Syracuse community by organizing field trips to places of interest relevant to the study of Religion.

If you are an SU undergraduate and are interested in joining URSA, please fill out this form or contact the department via email or call: +1.315.443.3863.
